Introductory Ride
Want to join Woolwich CC ? Read on.
The Introductory Rides run every Sunday alongside the club run. Subject to the weather and availability of a club rider to lead the ride.
We welcome riders who have a reasonable level of cycling capability and now want to experience riding in a group with the aim of developing their cycling skills or want to train for an upcoming event or race. We welcome riders from all backgrounds. You are not required to join Woolwich CC before joining the introductory ride. If after a ride or two you would like to join then use the British Cycling link above. Please read the document under rules and regulations for advice on what to do prior to the ride and please contact the club prior to joining a ride so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
The introductory route is 40km/25 miles and can be viewed here (https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49555007) and will be at a pace where everyone remains together. If necessary we will wait, for example at the top of a hill, and regroup as required. If there are any mechanical issues we will try to deal with them as a group. There is a cafe stop after 20km/12.5 miles at either Shoreham aircraft museum, on summer rides, or Lullingstone visitor centre, when the weather isn't so nice. Coffee, tea & cake is on us!
It's a chance for you to meet the current members, ride with us, chat with us and decide if joining a cycling club is for you.
If you're interested or have any questions, please contact the club secretary who will make the necessary arrangements.
